Who we are
FirmSavvy is a legal careers marketplace operated by Oleven LLC. For questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, please email us at info@inchambers.co or use our Contact page.
What we collect
When you browse
No account is needed. FirmSavvy uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser, to measure how many people visit, how they find the site, and which pages and listings they use, including job searches, Spotlight page views, clicks through to employer applications, completed applications and firm inquiries. The words you search for are sent with email addresses and numbers removed. We do not send Google your name, email address, résumé, or anything you write in an application, inquiry or contact form. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and the data is not used for advertising.
We count visits with our own counter: the page viewed, which listings were shown, which employer links were clicked, the referring website, campaign tags in the link, and whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer. To count unique visitors per day, we combine your IP address and browser type with a random key that changes every day and is deleted within two days, and keep only the resulting code. We do not store your IP address in these counts, and visits cannot be linked from one day to the next.
Your browser also keeps a short note of the first FirmSavvy page you opened and the website that referred you, in session storage for that tab. It is deleted when you close the tab and is sent to us only if you submit a Spotlight application.
Spotlight applications
Your email address, your résumé, the position you applied for, and, if you choose, a note about what you are looking for. We also record the consent statement you agreed to, when you applied, the page you applied from, and the first page and referring website noted above.
Confidential career inquiries
The details you enter in that form: your practice area, experience, region, timing and preferences, your email, and, if you choose, your name, phone number and target salary.
Firm inquiries and contact messages
The details and message you enter, including your name and email.
Technical information sent with forms
When you submit any form, our form provider records the IP address and browser type of the device that sent it, along with the page it was sent from and the website or campaign that brought you, and screens the submission for spam.
How we use it
- To review and process applications, and to contact you about the opportunity you applied for and similar opportunities.
- To respond to career inquiries, firm inquiries and messages.
- To introduce you to a specific employer, only with your permission for that introduction.
- To correct or remove listings when employers ask.
- To understand which pages and listings are useful, using the visit counts described above.
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
Spotlight applications and confidentiality
Employers behind Spotlight opportunities are not named publicly. When you apply to a Spotlight opportunity, your application and résumé come to FirmSavvy, not to the employer, and are never forwarded automatically. If there may be a fit, we contact you first. Your information is shared with a particular employer only with your permission for that specific introduction.
Who sees it
- The authorized people who operate FirmSavvy on behalf of Oleven LLC.
- Service providers that process data for us: Netlify, which hosts the website and processes form submissions; Supabase, which stores job listings, visit counts, and Spotlight applications and résumés in a private database and file store; Resend, which delivers application notification emails, including the résumé, to our inbox; and Google, which provides that email inbox, the website's fonts and, for website analytics, Google Analytics. Loading the fonts sends your IP address to Google.
- An employer, only with your permission for that specific introduction.
- Others only if the law requires it.
Storage and security
Résumés are kept in private storage that is not publicly accessible and are never posted on the website. Access to applications is limited to the people who operate FirmSavvy. Our service providers also keep technical logs, such as server logs that can include IP addresses, under their own retention schedules.
Your choices
To withdraw your consent to be contacted, or to ask what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, email us at info@inchambers.co or use our Contact page. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. When we delete your information, we remove it from the records we control: our application database, private résumé storage, the form submissions stored with our website host, and our email inbox. Copies in service providers' backups and email delivery logs are removed under those providers' own retention schedules.
How long we keep it
Spotlight applications and career inquiries are kept while they are useful for considering you for opportunities or responding to you, and are deleted on request unless we need to keep them for legal reasons. Firm inquiries are kept as business records. Visit counts are kept as described above. Once each day's key is deleted, the visitor codes can no longer be linked to an IP address or browser.
California residents
If you live in California, you can ask us what personal information we have about you and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@inchambers.co or using our Contact page. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above.
